Virocid®
SYNERGIZE COOL™ Cell Disinfectant
Virocid® is the most powerful disinfectant, proven
effective in disease prevention and widely recommended for combating disease outbreaks. In
addition to preventing disease, Virocid is highly
effective in controlling algae and slime-forming
bacteria in recirculating water cooling systems
and evaporative condensers.
Synergize Cool is a low-foaming disinfectant recommended for use in cool cell systems, evaporative coolers, and
other areas where controlling mold, algae, and the spread
of aerosol diseases is a priority. Research shows that a
cool cell pad treated with Synergize Cool can render live
PRRSv non-viable within one minute of passing through
the pad.
Directions:
• Must be added in the system directly at a point where
uniform mixing and even distribution will occur
• Do not mix with other chemicals or additives
• Severly fouled systems must be chemically or manually
cleaned before adding Virocid
• Apply 1/2 oz. of Synergize Cool per 1 gallon of water
• Example: A 100' Cool Cell System holding 300 gallons of water
would take 150 oz.
• Apply 2 times/week (i.e. Monday AM and Thursday PM) as
product is effective for up to 72 hours after application
Directions:
• Initial dose: 2.5 fluid oz. of Virocid per 100 gallons of
water, repeat until algae/slime is under control
• Maintenance dose: 1.23 fluid ozs per 100 gallons of water in the system every 7 days,
Repeat as needed

Pad Descaler/Nozzle Cleaner
It is effective in removing mineral scale from cool cell
pads and nozzles, softening and dissolving deposits.
Use it to control calcium and magnesium scale, dissolve iron and manganese, and sequester alkali metals.
Directions:
• Check for holes and blow out pads once a year
• Pull pumps and drain lines before temperature drops
below freezing -- If pumps cannot be pulled, put additives
in tank to keep water from freezing
• Return pumps in spring, after threat of freezing has passed
• Test the system
• Check for clogged water outlet holes
(Pads should be wet all over, not patchy)
• Remove pads in the winter time
EVAPORATIVE COOLING
MAINTENANCE TIPS
• Maintain clean water - clean well water or
chlorinated city water with proper pH levels
• Check distribution header also for obstructions which can
lead to damaged or clogged pads (0.75 GPM for 6" pads
• Dry pads - every 24 hours to prevent algae buildup
• Maintain 3-5% water bleed off rate
• Keep pad and sump areas protected (shaded) direct sunlight causes algae growth
• Flush entire system - once a week, during operation
to control mineral levels
• Maintain minimal on/off wetting cycles
• Keep steady amount of water flowing over pads to help prevent mineral buildup
• Mineral treatment - used to prevent scale and mineral buildup and
keep silica levels below 150 ppm
• Algaecide - used to prevent growth on cooling pad
• Brushing off debris - when pads are dry, with a soft brush
bristle brush, followed by complete flushing accumulated
fragments of debris - biannually
• Rotate pads annually

Cool Cell Pad Conditioner
This specially formulated, highly concentrated surfactant solution is designed to maintain the porosity and wettability of cool
cell materials for optimal water flow. Regular use helps prevent
buildup, such as algae, and extends the life of the pads.
Directions:
• Usage: 4 oz. every 2 weeks per 50 gallons of water. A typical cool
cell holds 3 gallons per linear foot of cool cell trough
• Example Usage for 100' Cool Cell System: Apply 24 oz. of cool cell
pad conditioner. Repeat every 2 weeks

Powder Descaler
It effectively removes stubborn mineral deposits from the
water storage system, pumps, water nozzles, spray deflectors, evaporative cooling pads, and drains.
Directions:
• Gently brush dirt and other debris off of dry pads
• Flush systems with water
• Check for proper flow and fix leaks
• Circulate the Powder Descaler for 1 week and dump
rinse the system -- Complete again after 1-2 weeks,
then follow up monthly through the season
• Check for proper flow and fix leaks again
• Usage: 4 lbs. of product treats 100 gallons of water
• Example: A 50 ft. system holding 3 gallons per
linear foot would use 8 lbs. of product
