Tube Heater Maintenance
• Between Flock Maintenance: Maintenance between flocks involves blowing off the exterior of the units to remove dust and
debris, ensuring optimal performance and heat output. This task is performed before the next flock arrives, focusing on the tube,
top, and inside of the reflector.
• Annual Maintenance Tasks: Annual maintenance includes opening the burner box on AV and AG tube heaters to blow out the
interior, and this is done once a year. Additionally, the air intake to the burner box should be cleaned with a wire brush.
• Inspection of Components: Key inspections involve checking the burner head to ensure grommets are secure, inspecting the
exhaust venting for cracks due to corrosion, and examining heat exchanger tubes for cracks.
• Potential Issues from Neglect: If maintenance is neglected, heaters may function improperly and could accumulate soot,
requiring extensive cleaning and repair.
• ACS Brooder Maintenance: For ACS brooders, both flock and annual maintenance involve blowing off the heater with a leaf
blower or compressed air, ensuring the venturi and exchanger cone pores are clear, and checking for dust blocking the gas orifice
